On Friday, February 24, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., visited Coffeyville City Hall to hear from government officials concerning the effort to mitigate risks to the city’s levee system. Present were members of the Coffeyville City Commission and risk-management representatives from the area.

■ Toolkit will be another valuable key for communities to help those in need Governor Kelly announced launch of a toolkit to help Kansas communities create local interdisciplinary teams to prevent intimate partner violence and support survivors. The toolkit provides communities with resources to establish teams and identify and manage cases in which someone is at high risk of either perpetrating or being victimized by intimate partner violence.

Lamendola Dorothy Evelyn Lamendola, 93, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26th surrounded by her loved ones. Dorothy was born on March 12, 1929 to William Arther and Katie (Riggs) Pendleton in Altoona.

McBurney-VanWinkle Diana Ashby McBurney-Van-Winkle, 81, of rural Coffeyville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1941, in Caney, KS to William “Bill” Knapp and Dorothy Ashby (Norfleet) McBurney.
