Accident

June 17, IPD officers were notified of a one-vehicle accident which occurred June 16. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident which occurred in an alley between N. 6th and N. 5th streets, in the 200 block, according to Officer Shane Collins.

June 19, IPD officers responded to a report of a noninjury, two-vehicle accident in the 1800 block of W. Main St., according to Officer Devin Mendoza.

July 29, IPD officers were dispatched to 4th and Maple streets for a report of an accident, according to Officer Christina Johnson.

July 13, IPD officers were dispatched to 8th and Mulberry streets for a report of an injury accident. Both drivers were issued a citation for failure to wear seat belts, according to Officer Christina Johnson.

Accident/hit and run

July 17, IPD officers responded to 301 W. Main St. (Walgreens) for a hit and run accident on private party, according to Officer Damon Athey.

Aggravated assault

May 27, IPD officers responded to the 1200 block of N. 8th St. for a report of criminal damage to property and aggravated assault, according to Officer Justin Ward.

Aggravated burglary

July 14, IPD officers responded to the 300 block of S. 16th St. for a person who broke out a window to a residence. The investigation is ongoing regarding criminal damage to property, theft of property and aggravated robbery, according to Officer Christina Johnson.

Criminal use of a financial card

July 15, IPD officer took a report of an attempted criminal use of financial card in the 100 block of N. Penn Ave. The investigation continues, according to Officer Jason Reddy.

Driving under the influence

July 19, IPD officers were notified of a reckless driver heading south on Penn Ave. near El Pueblito’s Mexican Restaurant. Officers located the vehicle near Penn Ave. and Chestnut where a traffic stop was conducted due to the vehicle running a red light. After investigation, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, failure to stop at a traffic signal, driving with an expired license, driving with invalid tags and minor in possession of alcohol, according to Officer Richard Sherley.

Drug offenses

July 22, IPD officers were in the 200 block of E. Maple St. conducting a follow-up. Officers were advised the individual they were speaking with had a warrant out of Montgomery County. While waiting for a deputy to arrive, officers conducted a search of the individuals person where items of drug paraphernalia as well as illegal narcotics were discovered. The case is currently under investigation, according to Officer John Anderson.

Intimidate juror/witness

July 27, IPD officers received a complaint of intimidation of a witness, according to Officer Richard Sherley.

Theft

July 18, IPD officers took a report of theft of a person check from the 200 block of S. 14th St. which occurred June 1, according to Officer Christina Johnson.

July 21, IPD officers took a phone report from a subject who wanted to report a felony theft of a smoker from the area of the 900 block of W. Railroad St. The theft is alleged to have occurred July 18 in the midafternoon hours, according to Officer Dustin Taylor.

July 19, IPD officers responded to the Shoe Dept. for a report of theft, according to Officer Christina Johnson.

July 26, IPD officers responded to the 700 block of N. 10th St. for a report of a theft of money and keys, according to Officer Hilary Cook.

Theft of services

July 24, IPD officers responded to the 1200 block of W. Myrtle St. for a report of a theft of services, according to Officer Hilary Cook.

Traffic

July 3, IPD officers conducted a traffic stop at 15th and Main streets. After investigation, a 17-year-old male was arrested for driving without a license, invalid tags, no insurance, battery on law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, attempted battery on law enforcement and attempted criminal damage, according to Officer Richard Sherley.

Vehicle burglary

July 22, IPD officers received a call about a vehicle burglary and theft of a financial card which took place on CR 4100, according to Officer Daniel Bowers.

Wilson County

July 27, Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies transported Levi Aaron Nelson, 35, of Cherryvale, from Montgomery County where he was arrested on a Wilson County revocation of probation warrant. He is being held on a $1,676 cash only bond waiting first appearance with a judge.
