The City of Independence is opening two bids for Kiddy Land improvements at Riverside Park and Ralph Mitchell Zoo.

Kiddy Land Infrastructure Improvements:

Sealed bids for construction of Kiddy Land Infrastructure Improvements for the City of Independence will be received by the City of Independence until 2:00 p.m on October 14 and will then be publicly opened and read aloud at the Temporary City Hall at 811 West Laurel Street in Independence. A Pre-Bid conference will be held at TranSystems

A Pre-Bid conference will be held at TranSystems office at 115 South 6th Street on October 7 at 10 a.m. The pre-bid conference is not mandatory.

Bidding documents, plans and specifications have been prepared by TranSystems. The bid documents, plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Clerk and may be obtained from the office of TranSystems, 115 South 6th Street, Independence, KS 67301. Attn: Shawn Turner, PE. Phone: 620-331- 9621, sdturner@transystems.com for a printing and handling fee of $100.

The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor defects and to reject any or all bids and to advertise and rebid and/or negotiate with any or all bidders. Each bidder must deposit bid security with the bid in the amount of 5% of the total bid which is subject to conditions provided in the instructions to the Bidders.

The bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to deposit a Performance and Statutory Payment bond in the amount of 100% of the bid. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) calendar days after the opening thereof.

Kiddy Land Restroom Facility:

A direct link to the Ralph Mitchell Zoo, Kiddy Land Restroom bid posting is available on the City of Independence website. Any contractor wanting to access to the project can view the project for free by setting up a free account with Drexel, and can purchase digital plans through Drexel to be able to print a drawing set.
