RONALD R. MCGINNIS

Ronald R. McGinnis, age 89, of Pittsburg, MO, formerly of Independence, KS, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, St, Independence, KS, with the family receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Ronald Ralph McGinnis was born August 2, 1934, in Excelsior Springs, MO to Ralph and Rachel (Headlee) McGinnis. He grew up there and attended schools in Rayville, MO. Ronald first married Dorothy (Davis) Dunkerson and the family settled in Independence. He later married Ethel Bowles, who preceded him in death. Ronald worked in oil and gas drilling and was member of several groups, including the Masonic Lodge. Ronald lived in Green Valley, AZ, before moving to Pittsburg. He enjoyed golfing in Colorado and Arizona with family and friends and loved traveling.

Survivors of Ronald McGinnis include: children Victoria McGinnis, Pittsburg, MO, Susan Sottoriva, Kansas City, MO, Bruce (Gary) Bowles, Bartlesville and Lesli (David) Starr, Milliken, CO; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel, two daughters Cheryl McGinnis and Robin Thomas and a brother, Rudy McGinnis.

The family of Ronald McGinnis has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence.
