William Tiecke, 66, of Mound Valley passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Bill Tiecke was born June 25, 1957, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Louis 'Bud' and Dorothy Mae (Sheetz) Tiecke. He grew up and attended country schools in Muscatine before moving to Lafayette, Colorado.

In 1977, he met and later married Margi Howard. She survives of the home. They moved to Ketchum, Oklahoma and then Joplin before settling in Mound Valley in 1998. He grew up in the Zion Lutheran Church and worked in industrial cleaning and later as a chef. He was an avid animal lover and loved music, cooking and his 10 grandchildren.

Survivors of Bill Tiecke include his children, Justin Tiecke, Bryan (Tiffanie) Tiecke and Brandon Tiecke; 10 grandchildren, Eathan, Caydence, Madisyn, Alexia, Hunter, Kalynn, Patience, Rune, Kisa and Eralynn; a great-grandchild arriving soon; his siblings, Patricia Tiecke-Collins, George Bryan and Beth (Mike) Batenhorst; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Tiecke and Dorothy Shanks; a brother-in-law, Al Collins; and his beloved dog, Star.

A memorial service will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials to an animal shelter of choice and sent to Webb Family Funeral Service, 4069 CR 3900, Independence, KS, 67301.
