Lady Bulldogs fall short of comeback on the road versus Bonner Springs

After dropping a nail-biter at home to Ft. Scott last Monday for their third straight loss, the Independence High School girls' basketball team traveled to the Kansas City Metro area on Friday, January 28 to take on Bonner Springs. The Lady Bulldogs suffered from a sluggish start but were resilient as they mounted a late comeback and finished with a fury in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the early struggles proved to be insurmountable as the Lady Braves held on for the 55-50 win.

Falling partway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, February 2 is a rather important day for many ancient and modern traditions. The Celts celebrated this day marking the beginning of spring.

I'm right there, front and center, on Super Bowl Sunday, cheering on the underdog, breathlessly waiting for the next commercial while enjoying some decadent party food.
