Second Saturday in the Park race a roaring success

Despite the rain and puddles, over 80 runners came out to enjoy the second annual Saturday in the Park held over the weekend at Riverside Park. Blessed with beautiful weather and cooler temperatures, participants chose their race of choice from a one-mile fun run, a 5K individual race or a 5K team event. Even the little ones were able to get in on the fun with a Toddler Trot.

IHS boys’ tennis earns Regional title at W nfield, qualifies all six for

Fresh off a Southeast Kansas League Tournament Championship at home last Monday, Independence High School boys’ tennis made the trek west to Winfield for Regional on Friday, May 3. The Bulldogs finished first as a squad and had both singles players and both doubles teams place in the top four, punching their tickets to the KSHSAA Class 4A State Tournament in Topeka later this week.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m., the Montgomery County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting at the CCC Walker Alumni Center in Coffeyville. The alumni center is located at 10th and Willow, directly across the street north of the public library.
