Celebration of life services will be Tuesday June 16, 2020 at 11:00am at the Loran Fawcett Chapel, in Neodesha, KS. A visitation will be at 10:00am at the chapel and the family will greet friends before the services. Private family burial will take place Fairland, Oklahoma.

Sharon J. (Jones, Toomey) Miller, 83, of Independence, KS, was called from her earthly life to join her heavenly Father on June 5, 2020; no more sorrow, no more pain. Sharon was born Feb 25, 1937, in Cherryvale, KS. She was the fifth of six children born to Charlie L. and Ethel E. (Lewis) Jones. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1955. Sharon married Robert L. Toomey on November 27, 1955 in Cherryvale, KS. They later divorced. To this union they had 2 children. Brian K. (Henrietta) Toomey and Sonja L. (Tony) Ezard. Sharon worked as a secretary during her career for several companies before retiring as an Executive Secretary for ARCO Pipeline in 1993. Sharon married C. Frank Miller on October 6, 2000 in Independence, KS. Frank went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2020. This union brought the total of children to five by adding Ruth A. (Jurgen) Hanke, Neodesha, KS. Mark F. (Jeanette) Miller, Lees Summit, MO. Leah S. (Jeff) Mosley, Carmel, IN. Her Lord blessed her with 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Herbert Don Shira, 92, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 24, 1927 on the family farm near Labette, Kansas. Don grew up in Labette County where he attended rural schools and completed his education graduating from Labette County High School.

Greg Steven Pugh passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Missouri. Reciting of the Rosary will take place at Potts Chapel in Independence on Monday, June 15th at 6:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm following the Rosary. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 16th at 10:00 am, with burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery. A full obituary will follow.

RICHARD “RICK” DALE SCHLOTMAN

Richard “Rick” Dale Schlotman, age 64, formerly of Lawrence Kansas, entered into eternal rest on Friday the 29th of May. Rick was born to James and Norma Lee Schlotman in Independence KS on December 30th 1955. In passing Rick has been reunited with his mother and father as well as his sisters Jill and Jan and his brothers Dennis, Jim, and Bobby. Rick is survived by his Wife of 42 years Shelly, Daughter Lissa and her husband Victor Heffner, Son Jason and his sister Jody Gregor. Ricks legacy of hard work and kindness will also be carried on through his grandchildren whom he dearly loved – Kira, Isabell, Abby, and Autumn as well as the blessing of a great grandchild who is on the way.
