Brewer Dorothy (Lanning) Brewer, age 94 of Howard, passed away at her home on April 4, 2024. Dorothy was born August 9, 1929 to Louis and Mary Rose Iaconis in Weed, California.

Flaharty On the 29th of November 1935, Drue Wood hitched his best team to the front of his car and towed his laboring wife, V. Ferne (Fiensy), through nearly impassable roads and flooded creeks to the home of his sister, Georgie, where he paid the price of “one fat calf” for the successful birth of his daughter and his pride and joy, Rena Jolene Wood.

McGinnis Ronald R. McGinnis, age 89, of Pittsburg, MO, formerly of Independence, KS, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home.

Mrs. Joycelyn Downing, age 77 of Coffeyville, KS passed away at her home surrounded by her husband, daughter and grandchildren on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Book signing and viewing will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. also at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery following the service.

Michael W. B. Salisbury, 63, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home in Franklin, TN. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS on Friday, May 3 at 2:30pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, Kansas with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Gilliland Joyce Anne Gilliland, 84, of Ladson, SC, passed away on March 26th, 2024. Joyce was born on September 19, 1939 to Omar Earl Jackson Jr.

Joy Ann Lofton Barnett, 42, passed away at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas with her family at her side on Sunday, March 10, 2024 after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
